Flight schools in the United States

This is every flight school we can currently point you at in the United States: two and a quarter thousand of them, searchable by name, by city and by state. It is the same list we work from when someone calls and says "I live here, where do I start?"

It comes in two tiers, and the difference matters. Twenty-five Arizona schools are verified — we called them, checked the airport they actually fly from, read their public reviews, and wrote up what they are good at and what to go in knowing. Those have full profiles. Everything else is listed: name, city, airport and phone number, sourced from the AOPA Flight School Finder and not yet individually checked by us.

We are not going to pretend a listing is a recommendation. A listed school might be superb, might have moved, might have closed last spring. If one of them is the school you are eyeing, ask us and we will do the checking before you spend a Saturday driving to an empty hangar.

Free to you. You pay the school directly, at the school’s price, never a markup for coming through us. We are paid by the schools for connecting them with students who are ready to start.

Listings are sourced from the AOPA Flight School Finder and have not been individually verified by us. Some may have moved, changed hands or closed. Schools marked “Verified” are the ones we checked by hand in July 2026.

What the filters actually mean

These apply to verified schools only. A school with no badge is not a school that said no — it is a school where we have not confirmed it either way, and we would rather leave it blank than guess.

Discovery flights
The school runs beginner instruction, so an introductory flight is something we can realistically arrange there.
Part 141
The school is documented as running an FAA Part 141 programme. Very few are marked, because most independents do not publish it — a blank here means unpublished, not no.
Financing / VA / visa
A documented funding route: VA approval, GI Bill, or M-1/F-1 visa-approved training.
Career track
Structured professional-pilot or type-rating programmes rather than recreational lessons.
