Who are Arizona Flight Training Center, really?
Arizona Flight Training Center flies out of Glendale Municipal Airport on the west side of the Phoenix valley. Of the independent schools we have looked at in Glendale, it is the one with the steadiest public track record — not the loudest marketing, but the fewest unhappy people.
It is worth being precise about what that means. Seventeen Google reviews is a modest sample for a metro this size. It is not the volume you would see at a national academy. But the reviews are consistent, the website is current, and nothing in the public record suggests the kind of communication problems that make students quit.
What is it good at?
- Glendale Municipal is a quieter tower-controlled field than Deer Valley — you still learn radio work, without spending half your first lessons waiting in line for the runway.
- A current, maintained website with a working contact route, which is rarer among Arizona independents than it should be.
- The strongest review consistency of the independent Glendale schools as of July 2026.
- West-valley location, so students in Peoria, Surprise and Sun City are not driving across the metro for every lesson.
What should you go in knowing?
- Review volume is modest. Seventeen reviews tells you the school is sound; it does not tell you much about a specific instructor or a specific program.
- Part 61 versus Part 141 status is not published. Ask before you commit if GI Bill or M-1 visa eligibility matters to you.
- Fleet composition and hourly rates are not listed publicly and are quoted directly.
